Outside of his career as a personal injury, workers' compensation, and social security disability lawyer, Mr. Hughes is passionate about community involvement, golf, gardening, and the arts. He is an avid golfer who has won the Sunny King Golf Tournament and other competitions. Mr. Hughes also enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Sally, and their animals.
Additionally, Mr. Hughes founded the University of Alabama baseball camp in Anniston. He also coached high school boys' basketball teams during the 1990s, leading many to the area championship. Because of this, he has earned the title of County Coach of the Year three times.
